Final meeting in the framework of the research project “Calibration of weighing instruments - microbalances” developed by the SIM Mass Working Group - SIM MWG7
From March 11 to 13, the final meeting of the research project "Calibration of weighing instruments - microbalances", which has been developing since 2017 with the support of the Inter-American System, will be held at the INM facilities in Colombia. of Metrology - SIM and the Inter-American Development Bank - IDB. Representatives of the mass laboratories of the national metrology institutes of Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Colombia will meet to present the results of the project referring to a guide for Calibration of Microbalance Weighing Instruments and calibration of minor weights to the milligram, this will also establish the route of action for the dissemination of the same in the SIM region.
With this project, it is expected to strengthen and ensure the traceability of measurements in instrument calibrations to weigh non-automatic operation, in measurement intervals of the order of milligrams.
Chem. Ing. Sheila Preste will participate in this activity representing the LATU Department of Physical Metrology.
