Industry Promoting Regimes

The Temporary Admission Regime is a promotion tool that enables the Uruguayan industrials to enter duty-free goods from abroad, for a purpose other than domestic consumption. The condition is that the goods produced with duty-free raw material be exported after undergoing transformation, manufacturing, repair or addition of value, with effective use of local labor.

Through this service that LATU provides to industry, the latter has access to raw material or other goods with no due tariffs or duties. This enhances the competitiveness of exports manufacturers, and helps them enter demanding international markets, since they can use unlimited amounts of the goods they need at better prices, while ensuring an adequate quality.
