A new generation of intelligent aerial technology lands in Uruguay

The launch of FLX – Smart Drone Operations (which brings together Drone.uy, a graduate venture of Ingenio, and Fly Clean) gathered authorities, companies, and institutions on Thursday, November 20, at the Los Ombúes building to take a close look at new autonomous drone solutions powered by AI and automation.

FLX – Smart Drone Operations is a venture based in LATU’s Innovation Park. It integrates autonomous drones, AI, and analytics to transform the management of critical inspections and monitoring in industry and public services.

The event featured a technology showcase, live demonstrations of the DJI Dock 3, and a networking space that reaffirmed Uruguay’s role as a regional benchmark in innovation.

Through live demos, the session showed how technology, industry, government, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem come together to build solutions that drive national development. The presentation introduced a comprehensive platform that combines artificial intelligence, computer vision, high‑precision sensors, and predictive analytics, enabling 24/7 inspections, monitoring, and aerial operations with greater efficiency and safety.

Activities included:

  • Technology showcase of five unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Outdoor demonstrations, visible from the main hall, with safety protocols in place.
  • Networking with authorities and leaders from the industrial, energy, and technology sectors.
