On the 8th of September, invited by the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ), Mr. Ruperto Long, President of the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU), participated in the 12th China Third-Party Testing Laboratory Development Forum and shared a keynote speech titled “CAIQ and Uruguay's LATU build trust and deepen cooperation”.

In the video, Mr. Long stated that in June 2020, LATU and CAIQ signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) meant to strengthen cooperation in areas of shared concern.

Also, he highlighted that both institutions have reached an agreement on the mutual comparison of analytical aspects required for powdered milk to be exported to China. He also expressed his hope that the MoU will help the joint understanding of food laboratory systems in Uruguay and China to improve food safety and quality. These actions are oriented to provide support for Uruguayan exporters in order to meet Chinese standards.
